The US Geological Survey (USGS) reported that a 5.6-magnitude earthquake struck the western portion of Nepal on Wednesday, sending shockwaves into India. According to ANI, six people were found dead in Nepal's Doti district after a house collapsed due to the earthquake. The USGS recorded the earthquake's epicentre at a depth of 15 kilometres (9 miles), close to Dipayal in Nepal, which is located 340 kilometres (210 miles) west of Kathmandu. It struck about 2:00 a.m. (2030 GMT) and caused tremors throughout northern India. Sher Bahadur Deuba, the prime minister of Nepal, sent his condolences and announced that plans had been made for the injured people's medical care.
